Lt. Col. (Ret.) Jim Bourque
OUR STORY
Following in the footsteps of the original Crime Stoppers program in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers was established in 1984 by Sgt. Jim Bourque.

Crime Solvers was designed as a nonprofit organization. Volunteers made up of concerned citizens and local business owners formed the Crime Solvers Board of Directors. The Board would partner with the law enforcement agencies of Chesterfield County and Colonial Heights, as well as the local media to spotlight unsolved crimes.
Together, they would encourage the community to report information about unsolved crimes and fugitives safely and anonymously through the Anonymous TipLine.

Since then, Crime Solvers has implemented web-based and text message-based methods of submitting tips anonymously through Crime Solvers. Crime Solvers also maintains an online presence with this website, crimesolvers.net and through social media.

Crime Solvers has blossomed into an incredibly successful tool! Our weekly "Crime of the Week" segments appear on local and cable television networks, on radio stations and social media venues, and in local newspapers and magazines. Our scholastic program features students to help publicize Crime Solvers in our local high and middle schools. In return, the members of our scholastic program are given unique community service based opportunities and a chance at earning a yearly scholarship!
