The Jim Bourque Crime Solvers Fundraising Bowling Tournament - October 9, 2011
October 11, 2011 - Aye..the EVIL pinions fell!
The 2011 Jim Bourque Crime Solvers Fundraising Bowling Tournament has come and gone, and many walked away with their frustrations against crime taken out on a plethora of bowling pins. The founder of our program, Retired Lt. Colonel Jim Bourque, rolled a ceremonial "First Ball" with his family on the lanes beside him, and it was truly an emotional opening. He stayed and thanked bowlers as the competition (and the smack talking) raged on from the 13 teams that participated. Many "Thank You"s are in order. First....HUGE thanks go to the sponsors who contributed...including Flagstop Carwash & Quick Lube, Sheetz, Hi-Tech Asphalt Solutions, The Gits Group, Express Auto Center and Dominion Service Heating & Air. Their support helped our program raise more funds to continue paying cash rewards for tips that help law enforcement solve cases and locate fugitives. Also....HUGE thanks to the staff of Bowl America for hosting and for taking pictures for us. We will post pictures as soon as we have them ready. A special note * Team Bourque/Semko decided to allow our program to keep the first-place prize money, which helped the fundraiser even more. Thanks to THEM for their incredibly unselfish gesture.

When: Sunday, October 9, 2011 (Registration begins at 1 p.m., bowling starts at 2)
Where: Bowl America, 7929 Midlothian Turnpike
Who: Teams of 4
Sanctioned bowlers 18 yoa or older (please see below disclaimer)
Non-sanctioned bowlers of all ages are welcome!
Cost: $30 per bowler, $120 per team (singles will be partnered with other single players to make teams of 4)
What's included: 3 games, 1 pizza per team, shoe rental (if needed)
Sanctioned bowlers will be bowling for cash prizes, non-sanctioned bowlers will be bowling for trophies.
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER (to keep it fun) ....... For sanctioned bowlers: there will be a 720 per-team maximum, based on the 2010 - 2011 GRBA and the Petersburg District Year Book (using highest average).
