DR. HUGHEY A. WOODLE, JR.
Crime Solvers Volunteer

Dr. Hugh Woodle, Jr. is one of the founding directors of
Crime Solvers (1984), and was President of Crime Solvers in 1988.

He graduated from Clemson in 1951 with degree in Chemical Engineering and served in the Army Corps of Engineers from 1951 to 1953 as 1st Lieutenant.

Dr. Woodle worked in the DuPont Explosives Department from 1953-1954 and attended VPI from 1954 to 1957 where he received his PhD as a Chemical Engineer.  At this point, he also found time to marry his advisor’s secretary!

He returned to Dupont, working at five plants in three operating departments in Research, Technical Management, Manufacturing Management and Staff.  In 1990, Dr. Woodle retired from the Spruance Fibers Plant with 36 years of service.

Dr. Woodle has been engaged in almost all types of activities with Crime Solvers over the years, and is well known for saying what is on his mind!  Dr. Woodle lists his major accomplishment (and most satisfying work) as working with the  Crime Solvers Scholastic Program 1994-2004.

Dr. Woodle was awarded the Hulon Willis award in 1999, and was awarded Life Member status in 2003.

Dr. Woodle says that he has “enjoyed every minute of it; many more good days than bad days.”
